Description: For my Senior Project, I will be creating a portfolio of professional pictures that I have taken. These pictures will be of different friends and family members. There is an assorted amount of pictures that are taken from different angles and perspectives. From conducting this project I will be learning how to use different features of the Nikon camera, along with different editing techniques to improve the quality of the portraits. Why I choose this: I chose this area of study because photography has always been something that I have admired for a long time. The way you can capture the moments of memorable and important milestones is why I have chosen this. I have also chosen this because I am thinking of going into Graphic Design in the future, and for that major, you take a lot of photography classes. So doing this project is giving me the opportunity to explore something I might have a career in in the future. Background: The only background that I have with photography is getting my pictures taken for years prior. From getting them done, I have seen how to proportionally line the camera for the best shot. Another experience that I have had with photography would be in my Yearbook course. From that class, I learned how to properly focus that camera and find the correct background. Other than that I do not have any experience in running my camera correctly and editing the photos the right way. Why it is a stretch: This project is considered a stretch for me because I have not actually spent the time to learn how to get the right portrait. Including adjusting the lighting, having the proper background, using the rule of thirds, actually editing the photos, and putting together a portfolio.
